We had about 8 hours of rain yesterday which turned into snow last night with an accumulation of 3-5" on top of ice. We're not going anywhere today!

Stay warm and safe everyone who has been hit by this storm!

We were on the southern end of the storm that's now charging to the Northeast. On Friday, the temps here were in the 40's. Yesterday, that north wind was blowing at 25 to 30 MPH and temps plummeted to the low teens. Just a county north of us, a snow plow rolled over and unfortunately the 25 year old driver lost his life. For all in this storms path, please stay safe and warm. If you don't have to go out, then DON'T.
Friday evening we had a Armadillo meander through the back yard. I've never seen one alive, so I grabbed the camera and ran to snap a photo as it was quickly moving away. I no sooner put the camera up to upload the photos I had just taken, when 2 Red Foxes ran through the back yard. Go figure! Then on Saturday morning as the cold wind blew in cold temps, a few birds visited a small feeder, puffed out, covered their feet, and didn't move for a half hour. The birds in my hood managed to totally clean out 5 full feeders yesterday.
After 8 days of fog, the sun is shinning this morning. Yeah!

Thanks Karin! Not my best images, but with situations as they were, they'll do for me.

So far this winter, heavy snow hasn't been much of a problem in Western PA.. Temps. was in the 40's Friday and Saturday with a light rain both days. Temps fell to the teens early Sunday morning, now we have ice all over the place.

I keep telling myself...Spring is only two months away!
