A redo of a 2010 D60 JPG using ACR.

Shot on a typically hazy day with offshore Pacific fog.

Best in download, critiques always welcome.

ISO 100, f/9, f/320, 22mm (kit lens, handheld).

Hi Fred,
Interesting photo which certainly gives one the feeling of gazing out to see on a misty day, I can smell the salt air, so your image to me is a success. Composition wise, you have two great leading lines bringing us to the lighthouse. You may want to consider cropping a bit from the left and top, thus bringing the light and horizon line off dead center and removing some of the sky. A b&w conversion may look good. Your choice, it's a nice image.

There's a lot going on on the edges of this image. Would it be improved by less rock on the left or no trees touching the edge on the right? If the image is the lighthouse, should it be cropped tighter to bring the viewer closer to the lighthouse? Would moving the lighthouse off the center of the frame be an improvement?

Really nice. When I was at Pt Arena last, the fog was sooooooo thick, I could not see beyond the immediate foreground.

No, we did not enter the building, just passing through, and more interested in the geology than the history of that geology and shipping.

Enjoyed seeing this because 1963 to 1964 I was stationed at Point Arena Loran Station which was a short bit away from the lighthouse. We also had responsibility for maintaining the electronics at the light so I spent a bit of time there also. Can't tell you what a rush of memories this revives.

It's a nice photo, but does the lighthouse actually lean to the left?

OK, I was wrong. I imported it into LR and checked and there is no tilt. Sorry. It is a nice photo.
