Has anyone had experience with this: Ruggard Portable Dry Case (Black, 22.4L)? It is available at B&H and other places.

If so, how well does it work?

Thanks.

Are you going to tropical countries? If so should work well.

No. I live in Minnesota. I am looking for a way to store my lenses that prevents fungus from growing on them.

Well, having lived in New England, Florida and Georgia I’ve never had a problem. I just keep them in a camera bag. In Florida and Georgia I did and do have AC. If you are really concerned buy a humidity controlled cabinet. Amazon lists a whole range and cost depends on size. You could also save or buy a bunch of those desicant packs that absorb moisture and put them in your camera bag when in storage.

I do not have experience with the 22.4L portable dry case. I do have the (Ruggard Electronic Dry Cabinet (120L, BH# RUEDC120L) which I got on sale at B&H some time ago. It is NOT portable.

Ruggard is a Chinese product, but seems reliable, dependable and well-made. It has a digital adjustment for relative humidity, has temperature gauge and internal light, has 6 drawers (5 pull out), is completely quiet, and is pleasing in appearance. I would buy one again.
