Anyone have 1st hand experience with this inexpensive lens ? Looking to equip lightweight D3400 travel kit with ultra wide lens. Reviews I've read claim it to be a good bang for the buck. Like to hear from actual users. Thanks in advance.

What focal length range is it?
I assume it’s the 10-20 mm.
You left that off.
Not too late to edit your title.

Edit: Looks like you fixed it
Btw, you have about an hour to edit posts.

I’ve read people here on the ‘hog really like it. Evidently has a plastic mount.

Its a very nice ultra-wide kit lens. Yes its all plastic, including the optical elements, except for the front exposed element which is glass just like the other kit lenses out there. Optically its quite good with VERY little distortion even at 10mm. Cannot beat it for the price point.

I picked up a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 that is a surprisingly good lens. Looked at amazon and they are selling for $400. There is some distortion, but it's easily fixed in LR. You might want to take a look at it. In any case, you might want to rent your two or three top contenders before buying.

I was pleased with the IQ of the lens and thought it a great value for the money. Don't remember if the D3400 is compatabile with the P lens but I think it is.

I own it, and it is a good bang for the buck.

I picked it up last year (since it is so inexpensive) and have been pleased with it. It's a super light lens but corner to corner appears to be pretty sharp. I also had the Sigma 10mm-20mm f3.5, which is heavier but also produces good results. The D3400 and AF-P DX Nikkor 10mm-20mm make for a very light and small travel package. Here is a photo I took of one of our dogs with the Nikon lens last week.

This lens is the best value ever. It gives professional results at a really affordable price. This lens is as good or better than the more expensive ones.

I have the d7100 and have really enjoyed using it. It's sharp, fast, and light. Great value! I use it only in certain situations. My photography is primarily landscape.

I have this lens on a D7200 and it is fantastic IQ for the price . . . great small lightweight lens for travel. I pair this with the 18-140 kit lens when traveling and have some treasured images from travel using this in the tight streets and expansive views in Italy on a recent 2 week trip. I don't think you can go wrong with this lens. (I have the Nikon 14-24mm for my D810 and the size and weight is too much for extended travel photos . . so I use the D7100 and DX lenses for long trips)

The Sigma 10-20 is more than twice as heavy as this AF-P DX Nikon. Just get the Nikon. It's excellent.
