Paul, Great series. Thanks for sharing. The sand hill cranes are my favorite.

Thanks
The Sandhill cranes are pretty much the stars of the show at Bosque del Apache this time of year.

Excellent work! I'm jealous. I've wanted to find a javelina, so far with no success.

Thank you

I pulled up alongside 12 or 15 of them rooting around in the leaf litter. They were not too uncomfortable with me getting pretty close. Maybe 20ft away. Unfortunately there was so much bramble and brush that it was almost impossible to get clear pictures.

Could that be a Golden Eagle?

I thought it might be but someone talked me out of it. It was a pretty big bird whatever it was.

Very nice series. I too have been trying to get a javelina there. I have a few but nothing worth posting. Nice work!

Thanks
I’ve seen quite a few at BDA. I’ve seen a few out in fairly open areas but for some reason my pictures of them are never very satisfying..
Don’t really know why. Might be because they never really look up. Might be because they are just kinda ugly.

Very enjoyable series!

Yes, immature bald eagle. See:

Your "snipe" isn't. Maybe one of the sandpipers or a willet. They do all start to look alike after a few minutes viewing search results
