At the risk of being too political on here, I can’t help myself. So to answer the OP’s question; get yourself a good portrait lens like a Nikon 105 or other brand’s equivalent and go to any political event of your choice and shoot faces.

Use the Canon 500D close-up two element lens on the longest lens that you have. Not really ideal, however, it may be the best option you have for only $75 - $150. My Canon copy works great on my Canon 28-300mm lens when extended to 300mm. Bryan Peterson has used it on U-Tube. https://www.adorama.com/l/?searchinfo=canon+500d+close+up+lenses+%26+filters

I have a Nikon D7100. I would like to photograph some snowflakes. What lens do you guys recommend? (Without breaking the bank)
Thanks. Your advice is always good.

Yes, a trinocular microscope and an (adapted) camera is the "way to go".

I would recommend a macro lens or some extreme closeup lens or filters. I am assuming that you want to try getting detailed shots of some snowflakes.

If you don't have the skills nor the desire to be helpful, you should probably just keep to the many other active posts where this type of input is more appreciated ....
