Spent the morning shooting with Hog Buddy, Jimmy Carter. Jimmy and I have been shooting the Glades for the last six years. Always a good time. Even though it was a cold morning, 40 degrees, there were a few birds willing to pose. Please enjoy the downloads and Double Clicks. Thank you.

Gregory, again an excellent set.

Very nice! Are there areas you frequent that are closed due to the shutdown?

So glad you enjoyed Steve, greatly appreciate it, thanks so very much. Yes, there are many areas that are closed, luckily the 4 gravel roads through Big Cypress are owned and maintained by the county they are in, Collier, Miami Dade and Monroe Counties, but any areas with hiking trails, boardwalks and bathroom facilities are closed. I feel sorry for my friends in the National Parks Service who are not being paid. I also do some tours for a few tour companies, as I am one of a handful of people who have gone through training and received a permit from the National Park Service allowing me to do so. All those companies can not use most of Big Cypress and The Everglades, so they are out of business also. Hope this mess gets fixed. This is the the beginning of season and a million people or so can not visit Big Cypress and the Glades. It's hurting every business in the area.

Absolutely beautiful shots! Thank you for sharing them.

I recently was out taking pics at a local pond with lots of water birds & shore birds, GBH's and Cormorants & Great White Herons etc. & saw a pair of white birds sleeping in the trees across the pond. I zoome in & took a few shots but really did not know what they were. So I got curious & ran them through Merlin Bird ID & they are my first Black Crowned Night herons! Your pictures show meexactly what they should look like !! Thanks!
