An explanation needed

On my very first attempt to photograph meteors two years ago during the Pleiades, I obtained this image. Notice the arrow pointing at a red object. To the right of the red object is a faint meteor, but I am concerned with the red object. Could this red object be explained by a meteor burning up as it approached on a line almost directly towards me, not tangential across the sky? I do not have details about the photographic conditions but I've not seen an image like this. Perhaps a more knowledgeable person in this forum has the experience.

Alternatively, I must consider that it might be an artifact but how? (Taken at the intersection of rt 70 and 206 in the parking lot of the Red Lion Diner in New Jersey.)

I don’t have an answer for you, but am interested in any answer you may have received from somewhere else. Thanks.
