Dwaynes is the lab that processed the LAST few thousand outstanding rolls of KodaChrome. It took a few months. The owner Dwayne appeared in the most recent movie version of KodaChrome just a couple of years ago. The tear jerker movie that reattached a son to his dying father as they drove together cross country to take the fathers last rolls of KodaChrome to Dwaynes (The father was a photographer). Dwayne, the lab owner did a cameo in the movie.

People sobbed during and after the movie for days.

In these days I don't think it makes sense to either have the labs scan and/or print. The best when shooting negative films is to do your own printing (your own film processing too if you shoot B&W). Second best is to have the lab process the color negative but you make your own scan. Regardless how good the lab is if they were to scan your negative then it's kind of having someone else doing your RAW conversion. I am sure the OP shoots film because he likes to not because he has to so I don't think it's a good thing to have the lab scan and print. Having the lab making prints is fine once you scan your negative and send the JPEG to the lab.

Has anyone found a reasonable lab that will process C-41 and E-6 films? I have found two and used them both, aside from their very high prices, and less than glorious scans I would like to know if there are other possibilities?

Not knowing what you are paying now and what you consider a "reasonable lab", "high price", "less than glorious scans" makes it somewhat difficult to give you a recommendation. Also not knowing where you are located, are you looking for a lab close to you, or located anywhere? Here are a few recommendations though.

Thank you! I checked out Dwayne's and they are reasonably priced, and I will give them a try.

I do my own B&W, but color chemistry is no bargain...supply and demand I suppose....I scan my shots with my mighty Epson!

Color film processing requires very tight controls and monitoring, and is difficult to do well at home.

B&W is easy.

WalMart and Walgreens still accept print film.

I am not sure about color slide film.

The Walmart and Walgreens in my area won’t return your film - you get just the scans on a CD.

Denver Digital Imaging Center in Colorado. Do not be misled by the name; they have a full range of film services for E-6 and C-41.

I just dropped off a roll of film at Robi's in Lakewood Washington. $12. Hopefully they do a good job.

I've been using Indie Photo, a lab near me, for the last two years. Only $4.63 for each roll of C41.

That is why I stopped. I got tired of less-than-stellar-color rendition. For the cost it was easier to go with WWW.willowphotolabs.com and bonus....I get 4x6 prints with every order.
