Actually, I appreciate some so called junk mail. I don't subscribe to a daily local newspaper anymore, to see advertising, so the bulk business mail, as you say it is, will include Sales of furniture, restaurant coupons, including Pizzas, burgers, etc. The unwanted goes to the Recycling Bin, by all my neighbors. Waste not.

The good comes with the bad; and we keep the waste management people employed.

I've considered placing a trash can next to my mailbox so I can just dump all the junk mail into it. Then, once a week, the garbage man will empty it.

Have you considered turning your television off during the commercial breaks as well?

No, but I do mostly "mute" the sound.

No, but I do use the mute button on my remote, and check emails or go and use the "facility" during the commercial breaks.

I've been a broadcast engineer for almost 60 years, and understand the need for commercial breaks, but it has gotten out of hand in today's world... 10 minutes of commercials and 4 minutes of program, or at least it seems that way.

Excessive advertising in all forums is annoying; but that is the business we are in.
