Thanks for the info. I read your description of your scrambles twice to make sure I got it. Sounds like it would’ve made a great comic strip! I’ve also goofed up the iso setting, so know of what you speak. I can’t see the moon show tonight, as per usual January here, the clouds and rain from the Pacific are in control and the sky is blank. I’ll look forward to seeing what you salvaged. I’m going to play around with the Df on critters when setting it to the crop factor to see what I think. If it’s to my liking maybe it’ll be a poor man’s 500. We’ll see. I’ll let you know. Thanks for the info.

I was very disappointed with the images as I had taken quite a few, but when I enlarged them 100 percent for PP even the better ones were soft so ended up erasing all of them. The buffleheads are beautiful little ducks, especially the males and guess that I should have taken the time to grab my monopod but really don't think that it would have helped very much as I was able to somewhat stabilizes the camera against a tree for a few shots which turned out a little better but they are very small and the distance too great---probably 200+ feet. I need to set my little portable blind up next to the water's edge as the wood ducks will be back for nesting in late February and in the past have been able to take some decent images of them, but the buffleheads are very difficult to catch within range and especially now because hunting season is in. Hope your tests with the DF pans out and take care! Corky
