For many, many years I have always used Nikon lenses with Nikon cameras. After looking at many pictures, I bought a Sigma 150-600mm. I'm surprised that I can hand hold it and get good pictures. Anyone who owns this lens, will you please give comments.

Great lens! I have and use it on my Canon 6DII, sometimes hand-held, but most times on a tripod.

You are lucky to be able to hand hold it the best I can do is use it on a mono-pod.

I bought the Contemporary version over Christmas when it was on sale. So far I'm impressed at it's sharpness and how fast it focuses. Only used it hand-held so far with a high shutter speed. Bought it mainly because of reviews on this site and I'm definitely not disappointed.

Brue, you just don't realize how lucky I am. I had surgery on my right arm and hand on October 16. I appreciate your response.

Have had the sport version for the past 3 years and love it. I can hand hold, but only for a 3-4 shots, it is a heavy beast. Well built and have had it in the rain a few times with no issues.

Nice shots Dan..don't know which version you bought but I got the Contemporary version a couple of months ago and love it. Pretty much all my shots are hand held. I won't post any here, it's your post...

I have the Contemporary on for my Sony cameras. I use it on an a7s and a6000. About half the time I hand hold it. Next option (generally birds) I use a mono pod. And about 5% on a tripod. I am almost always setting the shutter speed at 1000sec or higher to help prevent motion blur.
