supposedly the police issue all the pertinent info to all of the pawn shops. whether they choose to pay any attention to it remains to be seen.

I h**e to see this thread go off on a political track, but let me add some facts. The number of i*****l a***ns entering the southern border at other than regular immigration ports has declined every year for the past number of years (including the Obama presidency), and this last year was no exception. Instead, what we are seeing are more individuals and families asking for asylum (often from Guatemala, Venezuela, and similar countries) appearing at regular legal immigration check points. Also, the flow of drugs is primarily through those checkpoints, rather than being sneaked across where a wall might be built. Finally, very few on the FBI watch list for terorists come across the southern border - the vast majority come in airplanes and land at international airports. So what we actually need instead of more walls is better processing and more facilities and manpower at the regular ports of entry and and an actual reasonable immigration policy. No one, including me, wants a huge influx of itinerant aliens that need to be supported by our educational and healthcare systems. What we do need are workers for farms, homebuilding, landscaping, etc. who are willing to assimilate and become Americans, including speaking English and paying taxes. Just my opinion.

Your facts light up the darkness created by the full of h**e remarks about immigrants and liberals.

Don't apologize to me, I'm not offended - It was an ugly comment, that's all. So, when in your family's history did they immigrate to the USA? Mine came in the very early 1800's from England and Ireland. You and I made good choices in our lives to be good citizens, and so have a great many others (all races, ethnic types).

I will apologize to the OP for where this went and then I'm done with it - we don't see "eye to eye", and that's OK, that's the beauty of our country, we can both still live happy productive lives here.

I wouldn't pick on California too heavily, we both live in another bat-crap crazy state. Heck we made a billion dollar con man our last governor (remember Columbia/HCA - he stole from us, the citizens of this country) and now we made him a US senator, (gee can it get any better) and he will be running for pres before we know it, and Florida has made gerrymandering of e******ns/v****g districts a state pastime. More crooks in the new swamp., draining the old one didn't help. Have a great day.

I surrender. Your logic can't be questioned. I apologize to the OP too. Personally, I'm not guessing that all that photo gear fit into one plastic tote. LOL

It's too bad that a man's posting about having his property stolen has turned into a political debate. Why can't people just stick to the subject without politics entering into it?

You might check on ebay for a number of the items. If they are all being sold by the same seller, that might make you suspicious of the seller. Also if the seller is fairly new and is selling that specific list of items, you could let the authorities...whomsoever they may be...know that as well. The brand new 43-86 lens could be a good place to start. Just an idea, but worth checking out. Good luck.

Hi folks,

I apologize for the intrusion, but I recently had my locked garage broken into and a bunch of stuff stolen.... mostly stuff like a chainsaw, an axe, gas powered trimmer, various garden hand tools, carpentry tools incl. circular saw, reciprocating saw, and some spare car parts.

Unfortunately I also had a bin full of some vintage camera gear temporarily stowed in there.

The theft has been reported and I've been watching Craigslist and eBay, however I'm posting a gear list here in hope that someone might spot some of the camera gear if/when it comes up for sale. Where I have record of them, partial serial #s are included to help with any identification.:

Canon FTb QL silver/black SLR.... xx6116

Canon F1n black body SLR.... xx7706
with Canon Power Winder F

Canon New F1 black body SLR... xx7865
with AE Finder
with Motor Drive FN
with Battery Pack FN

Canon 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. lens (FL)... xx9100

Canon 200mm f/2.8 (FD new)... xx7330

Canon 50-150mm f/4 (FD new)... x7114

Nikon F2 Photomic black SLR... xxx8324
with DP-2 AE Finder black... xx9429
with AS-1 Flash Adapter
with Nikon MD-3 Motor Drive
with Nikon MD-2 Battery Pack

Nikon F2S silver/black SLR... xxx1988
with Nikon DA-1 Sports Finder silver
with Nikon MD-2 Motor Drive
with Nikon MB-1 Battery Pack

Nikkormat EL black SLR.... xxx5656

Nikomat EL silver/black SLR... xxx5966

Nikon FG silver/black SLR... xxx2101
in lower half of black everready case

Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 lens... xx5927
with HR-1 lens hood

Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/3.5... xx5940
with PK-13 Extension Ring

Nikkor 105mm f/2.5... xx1255
with HS-8 lens hood

Nikkor 43-86mm zoom lens... ??
(new, in original box)

I think there may have been a Nikkor 28mm f/2.8E (xx4972) on the Nikon FG camera listed above, too.

There also were a number of small parts such as filters, extra front and rear lens caps, batteries and battery adapters, and more... all in a t***slucent plastic "bin" with a blue lid.

The theft occurred in a rural property in the foothills East of Fresno and happened around Thanksgiving or the weeks prior. I was away from the property for a period of time.

Please send me a PM if you notice any of these items for sale anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest going to www.lenstag.com and see if it would maybe worth listing. I don't think it would hurt.

You are absolutely correct Dennis - my bad, but just couldn’t let it go by. Sorry, I don’t frequent the attic.

Cheers,
Chris

Dear Fellow Photgrapher: I am sorry to hear of your theft. While that may not ease your loss, I routinely check for used equipment as I have other projects in the works. I doubt that any of the used camera stores in NYC would have anything of yours from Fresno, CA. I live in Brooklyn, NY but will troll the internet sites for your items.
Please be well none the less.

Funny. Me thinkist your 'facts' may be suspect? Let's see. Thousands of migrants in a (several) caravans from Central America, push to ILLEGALLY enter our southern border. Who are they? Where do they come from? Do they put children in the way of harm? Can you honestly say one or several are not intent on harming our national security? I can't either. That's why we stop intruders at the border. We have laws that deal with immigration. If they need changing, then go for it. In the meantime, an American should support our current laws. Do you know who may be coming through our unprotected southern border? Ya, neither do I. That is the point, my friend.

The request for funding for the 'wall' is .005% of our national budget. It was supported by both of the Clintons and Obama....likely a cast of thousands of others.

This is a political football.

The Clinton's and Obama deny this. Check the facts. It will completely disrupt animal and insect migrations which will further destroy the planet.

It is certainly a political football, but the “alternate facts” (which were immediately fact checked and found to be complete BS) are coming from Kristen Nielsen and the President. It’s sad that americans are not doing their own fact checking. Don’t take my word for it - just start Googling to get the actual numbers.
