Spent a little time with some friends at Elim Park convalescent home. I did this just prior to getting the flu last week! Fortunately they are still well! I'm getting back to recovery. Anyway, these ladies are 96(r) and going to be 100 (L) next week! Both very sharp and a wonderful examples of what can be at their ages!

Talk about inspiration!!

TILT !!!

I photographed this mystery ship in the French harbor of Nice in December, 1946, while on furlough from my post in Occupied Germany. I was alone at the time and don't speak French, so I have no idea what happened there, but the tilted masts seem to still be attached to the deck, and the hull seems to be floating on the water. So I'm appealing to our resident shipbuilder, RR, for an estimate of what he thinks happened here. I suppose it could have been damaged during the Liberation of southern France in 1944.

My sister sent a few old family photos for me to see. My dad cut my hair until I left home. I think he only knew how to do a crew cut. I had that beard for about 44 years. I'm 70 now.

I'm around 27 in this photo.

Just a thought, maybe it was a French Navy warship that they scuttled so it wouldn't fall into German hands who would use it to attack convoys crossing the Atlantic.

Or not. Like I said, just a thought.

Cell shot while tending my pack of rescue dogs at the farm this morn.

They ran about 45 minutes before rememering that were meaty treats awaiting them.

I worked a photo that I took during the "Set your camera to monochrome" challenge. The original photo was shot with cloudy WB and Kelvin was at 5850. With an auto WB setting Kelvin would be at 6750, and would've been extreme gray. However the Photoshop Elements 2019 histogram indicates the image is way underexposed. The second image is the same image as the original, but I changed the Kelvin value to 5000, brought up highlights to +100% and vibrancy up to +50% to achieve a blue whisky sky. The third image is cooked goose using PSE and SPE.
