Ink cost

Any OEM ink is expensive as everyone knows, some even say they make money selling ink and make cheaper printers to sell the ink. After trying several aftermarket inks I bought the LD products through Amazon. The colors reproduce just as well as the OEM, color reproduction was a problem on others. The LD product is much cheaper per cartridge but there is no indication how much ink is in the cartridge nor is there a quantity on the OEM cartridge. The question then is, are you really saving money if you don't know the cost per ml? Weighting the cartridge would not be valid since they could have internal differences. Anyone have an answer?

Weigh a cartridge when you first open it, when it is full, then weight it again when it is empty. The difference is how much ink you used. You'll need a sensitive scale, perhaps to the miligram range.

Well, you are smarter than I, there is nothing on the cartridge box which is the only place I looked.

Thanks, I found the OEM quanity on a Bing response, only 8 ml. So the LD is a lot cheaper per cartridge and has more ink. The OEM is Canon and LD was the only 3rd party ink I found that printed properly.

LD makes great ink. Used it for a couple of years on Canon printer. Colors are true. That said, I just bought a Pro-100 and will likely use Canon ink through the warranty period. Also, when my old Canon died I had 8-10 cartridges left in my stock. LD allowed me to return them for partial credit.

Good to know because these printers will die. I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th and either gave the ink away or just pitched it since it never fits in the new printer.
