This was completely off-the-cuff. I took my Canon 60D with newly-purchased Yongnuo 35mm lens to the dog park to try it out.
I was sitting on a picnic table bench and she was on the table behind me. I just swung around, one-handed, and snapped the shutter.
Turned out fantastic (to me). Can't believe the in-focus detail. Program Mode, autofocus. I wish I knew of a contest to enter it in.

That's me in her eye.

And yes, her tongue is ALWAYS sticking out.

She's my baby. Just turned 5. She was my first dog ever, at 64 yrs. old. Been severely allergic to dogs forever. But discovered, after my son had a Pug for couple of years, that it didn't bother me. So we took a chance and I've never any allergy symptoms to her! Most wonderful thing that's ever happened to me (after my kids, of course).

Aw...she is a real cutie and so glad you have found a dog that doesn't bother your allergies. I couldn't imagine our home without dogs in it, very happy for you and she is adorable

I wish I could say it was a result of fine photography skills. It was just a completely lucky shot.
