Does anyone have a photo of a "Lens Ball", I have never heard of this device that is used by some in their Photography.

Wouldn't you have to post that in the "nude" section?

I reckon Len would be tickled pink too. Be gentle.

I laughed harder at that than some of the jokes on here.

For those of you who use lens balls, what size do you have. It looks like something that would be fun to try

I got this upper-80mm (about 3.5 inch) Lensball brand crystal from Amazon.com. It comes with a polishing cloth (this one is red-orange) and a carry pouch (this one is black) in a padded box with a few example photos (in the white cardboard holder at the lower-left).

I have the large one and I love it. It is heavy so I don’t carry it all the time. Do not hand hold it in the direct sun though because it may burn. This is at my daughters graduation. I highly recommend one it’s fun exploring new pictures.

Perhaps now, the 'Juvenile' comments have ended. This is a sample of one I took a few years ago. The 'Crystal-Ball' is 100 mm diameter. I inverted the image in the ball (Some people like to see the upside-down image, as authentic optical physics). I don't mind either way.

I agree completely, you were being very polite when you used the word Juvenile.
How did you invert the ball in the image. I'm sure once I start using one it might become clear. Did you start with the 100mm? When we travel in our motor home a few months a year there are always exciting new things to photograph. But when I get back home its harder to get excited with the same old scenery. That's why I try to find new challenges.

Will send PM to you, explaining the method involved....Too many other posters want to make cheap fun out of your serious question about a Photographic technique. Regards ..

Hi, I recently bought one and would like to know how you inverted the image also.

Nice image Pablo8 I like the image in sphere being right side up. I have 2 sphere's 80mm and 60mm, only had them for over a month still learning process. Think be fun to experiment with. I would like to know how you inverted the image in the sphere, I think that looks pretty nice. All I can get done is a spin effect. The 60mm I think will be hard to use because it is small.

I have had people ask me how I hold them other than by hand for landscape etc. I Use Bottle caps, shot glass, baseball base to hold sphere's. Than cover base up with whatever I can find from surrounding area to cover the base itself up and help look more natural. Use green shot glass with a lot of green area in foreground. Right now working on a clear plastic tube about 4 feet high will put in Christmas tree stand to hold the tube in place. And I hope the end result is you won't see the tube hardly at all.
