Merry Christmas; may you not shrink from telling the truth of Christmas.

I happened to see Franklin Graham on the news and they asked him for a Christmas message (I guess he does this every year) and he talked about giving those in need a sandwich or a blanket or something. He talked about being nicer to our neighbors and lots of easy-low-friction things like that. I was VERY disappointed in him for shirking his responsibility as a Christian and pastor.

The actual message of Christmas is that Jesus will save His people from their sins...it's about redemption.

I pray that we have the guts to tell the truth to those who are perishing this coming year...even here on the UHH. May we have the courage to tell folks that unless they repent they will die in their sins and receive their just punishment.

As Paul Washer says "Speak to them as a dying man to dying men..."

Yes, yes yes...and no amount of commercialism, political correctness, revisionist history or any other man-made obfuscation can change the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we celebrate His birthday on Christmas - and "Happy Holidays" is one of the ultimate cop-outs to the truth.

As The Charlie Brown Christmas movie says, that’s what Christmas is all about. So thankful for redemption. Eph. 2: 8&9.

So very true. When I think about how dark my heart is and how sinful my daily actions are I'm so grateful that I'm saved by God's power and not my own. I shake my head at the idea that the King of Kings saved disgusting me.

Thanks, RPavich! Well spoken, and I personally appreciate your boldness. For those among us who do not celebrate Christmas, or who do so for a different reason, thank you for indulging us for this day. Blessings to all UHHers for the coming year!

Just a couple of thoughts:Without Christmas there would be no Easter! As God, Jesus knew what He would have to go through; yet He condescended to leave the beauty and glory of heaven, come to this very small ball He created and die for the sins of all future generations of mankind. AMAZING LOVE!

Yep, though technically He died to save His people from their sins, not all mankind.

Correct. I should have said, "...all mankind that choose to believe in Him."

I guess id have said “those that were chosen from the foundation of the world” as thats the way scripture puts it.

In any case, have a great day!

Again, you're correct. To me that sounds prideful and not useful when witnessing to others as we're instructed to do. Not judging you, stating only what I think. Still amazed I was given the choice (as far as I understood at the time) to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior or chose sin and walk away.

Not prideful at all, just biblical.
I guess that witnessing is a different issue. The message we are to proclaim is that man is in rebellion to God and that they are doomed sinners but God has made a way of redemption in Jesus Christ. The message is to repent and believe.

Im amazed every day that God allows this dirty sinner to draw another breath, and yet He does, what a merciful God!
