the resolution is incredible - you can see license plate numbers and people's facial expressions. This is probably crude compared to what the NSA/CIA are rumored to have.

I'd guess there are satellites that can do this from 100 miles up going 18,000mph. The SR-71 could (reputedly) do this from 20 miles up going 2,000+mph, 50 years ago.
It's still amazing to see, although I gather that the equipment needed to capture and stitch this kind of image is not sort of stuff any of us is likely to have in our kit.

And I’m sure there are stealth drones that we don’t see or hear anything about. Complete with self destruct systems in case they crash or are downed.
