Way back then, 1965 or so I had a 33.3rpm record of the 759. It made for hours of good listening and dreaming of the days of steam. Fast forward to 1972 and I had the chance to visit Steam Town in Bellows Falls, VT.
There she sat, no longer working but still just as splendid.
Of course the 4012 was really impressive back then also.
Time and elements have taken a tool of my slide collection, and I am beginning to think the poor quality of the device I used to scan them did not help but made things worse.

Enjoyed viewing these!
Do you have any side views?

Oh sure, get me side tracked. I went looking for a sound recording of the 759 and ended up reading about the difference between a saturated and super heated loco. I didn't find the recording but I didn't look all that long either. Thank you for sharing!

That first image has a lot of contrast and the blacks are crushed. But the 2nd image is great, a little noisy but good tonal quality and a nice composition. It speaks the power of steam to me.

These two are unprocessed, you can see what a mess these sildes are.
I am not expert enough in Photoshop to fully restore them.

They are both still interesting. I actually like the 759 in an abstract sort of way. I think it would be great framed and hung on a wall.
