Small flowing creek to ice formations

Took a hike yesterday and found this small creek that flowed over a cliff. The ice formations were pretty cool! Nikon D500, Tamron 16-300mm lens.

Interesting stuff, Cindy. I like 'em.

Ain't it great to come across stuff --especially stuff that makes for interesting images-- you didn't already know was there? Hope you're already planning to return some time soon, when the sun pokes through, and maybe there's some side light that make things sparkle. May make for some exposure challenges, but that's just part of the game. Might even be worth shooting specifically for b&w, too. Who knows....

Thanks Mike! This place isn't to far from home. I actually hike the trail by here alot..just never walked off the trail to the bottom of the cliff before..lol

Yes it is! I hike the trail quite a bit by that cliff just never hiked off trail to the base of the cliffs....as the ice gets thicker I will be heading there again. Thanks for the suggestion of b&w...will have to try that!
