For the love of a horse

Over a year ago I was asked to photograph some of the horses that reside on the farm on the grounds at Wallkill Correctional Facility in Wallkill NY. the photos were to be used for greeting letters from the Superintendent of the facility to the staff. some time latter the Superintendent asked if I could take photos of the grounds and horses during the different seasons for a calendar that would be sold on the web site of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, the funds raised would go to cover the cost of caring for the horses at our facility. The calendar was just printed and it is a 13 month calendar. The horses on our farm are ex-race horses that have come to us to live out their final days, some have been adopted but most stay on the farm. The care is provided by some of the Inmates at the facility, a Correction Officer and a Farm Manager. the calendar is on sale at TRFinc.org or you can look up Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation's 2019 calendar...Happy Holidays to all.....The first two photos were taken after our first snow fall and the following are the one's that are in the calendar.
