Limiting Murals?

Kingston, NY has quite a few murals painted on buildings, but some people are concerned because they might obliterate old advertisements. I much rather see a beautiful mural than a fading advertisement from the 1950s. That's hardly "city heritage." Preserve the old buildings, if necessary, but preserving fading paint that tried to sell products sixty years ago would not be my priority.

I like both the old and the new. The ads give an insight into the past (history), The murals are beautiful and will one day become history.
Don't you often wonder what buildings were used for in the past? or what products were used for.
One ad on a building in St.Louis happens to be on the building where the product "Absorene" was made, do you know what Absorene is now?

I don't think anyone painted over any old ads, mainly because they are very high on the tallest buildings.

As for Absorene, don't you clean your books?!
