Looks like a turboprop, so later than WWII. Looks fast and I think those are wing tanks (but may be weapons, since they have tail empennage) on the ground, so extended range might suggest recon, photography etc.

It's an OV-1 Mohawk.

The OV-10 Bronco came later and was twin boom.

OV-1 was not a observation aircraft....it was a weapons delivery aircraft. It was a cross between the Gruman S-2 and its present interation...

That's a Grumman OV-1 Mohawk. Pima Air and Space museum in Tucson has an example OV-1C. Triple tail. Where and when was this photo taken, if you don't mind my asking? There can't be that many remaining since fewer than 400 were built

Yes. The OV10 had a longer nose section as a very noticeable difference.

This was taken at a place called Vic's Antiques & Uniques on US31 in Edinburgh, IN. It is extremely close to Camp Atterbury, an army base in Edinburgh. This plane DOES have a triple tail. What war(s) was this plane used in?

Additionally the Army used these in Desert Storm too. They were retired by the US in 1996 apparently.......

Oh my. A buddy flew the JOV1 version in Nam. He was downed by ground fire on a bda assignment. He evaded numerous NVA patrols for 2 days and we picked him up on a river gravel bar whose moniker was only known in his hootch. He beat all odds.
