What I find interesting Jim, is that this is a far more complex photo than one may realize. I found by zooming into specific parts of the photograph, there are subtle aspects that in their selves that would make for a good photo - all to do with the fog. For instance, there is that bird, the people, what looks like a building (which is actually a clump of more trees) behind the trees, and so on. Pretty neat!

Thank you very much for taking the time to look in and comment Tom and you're the first one to see the Magpie and the people in the mist so I'm happy about that.I did think of cropping it down but changed my mind. Thanks again for looking in Tom it's much appreciated.Glad you liked it.

I would be interested in knowing how you accomplished this shot. I love the brilliant sun through the fog, and the bright foreground - certainly very difficult to bring off if using the auto mode. Thanks.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look in and comment JohnTcanon it's much appreciated.Glad you liked it.Here are the settings i used for th photo....
...I used my Sony A7 m2 coupled with my Sony 3.5-6.3/18-250mm lens.
F-stop f/9
Exposure 1/250th s
Iso 400
Shutter mode.
I also did a little tweaking with Brightness and shadows.
Hope this helps
Jim.

There used to be a photographer on a site I visited that would go to cemeteries on foggy days. He would get dramatic effects on old headstones...almost ghostly. Your fine photo reminded me of those photos and if we get a foggy day, I'm heading to a cemetery!!

Good luck Jederick i look forward to seeing your fog photos Thanks for looking Jederick i always appreciate it.Glad you liked it.

This is a wonderful discovery and aren't you so glad you took it. Not bad for an otherwise dismal day. Thanks

Very nice shot. Fog adds an interesting element to photos if captured right, and you certainly got it right.
