I took pictures at our family thanksgiving for those wanting family or individual Christmas pictures. (They turned out great). I didn’t charge a sitting fee just the price of any prints they order. Some have asked to purchase digital copies. I’ve never sold digital files before so not sure what to charge. What is the going rate?
Just me but I personally wouldn't ever charge for family photos, eat the minor costs or give them as Christmas gifts.

Divide the family up into logical groups and make a disk for each one. Tell everyone who has the disk so they can borrow it if they want to make a copy or use it. This should result in a minimal cost if you make them yourself and it will not create a bad issue. DO NOT CHARGE FAMILY
Time and materials. Post processing is time consuming for me. I'd at least want to break even. I love my hobby and my family but unless you're very fast with your pp skills I can see where you'd want at least cost.
Frankly I take lots of photos for my family. I am one of ten children so that is a lot of photos. I would never charge them, they are family.
They will treat me to a lunch or a bottle of wine, but I do not ask for this, they just do it, because, as I said, We are all Family.

If it's family, you should either give them the pictures/files or, at most, charge them only the cost of the pictures.
First, I give my family any picture I have including large canvases I sell. Are you allowing them to reproduce them? You know you have a copyright on them. And remember they are family. Have a merry Christmas!

It's your family at a family event. I'd just give it to them.
I use One Drive and send invites to those in attendance. The idea of charging family is disgusting.
I've taken and shared tens of thousands photos of family. I can't imagine charging them.

Did you discuss price ahead of time when you extended the offer? If so, charge them that. If not, this seems like a recipe for disaster and hurt feelings. I would assume a family member new to photography offering this would be offering it freely. (but we do give services freely n my family. Maybe yours charges each other for stuff?) And be a little upset after going to the effort of looking nice and sitting for pictures and then being asked for money afterwards. Always set expectations properly from the start. You can set up a pass gallery for free and they can then just download what they want.

I set up my backdrop, lights and camera in my suite where we all stayed and I extended the offer in advance. They came color coordinated ready for family Christmas pictures. I’m not trying to sell the pictures I took during our dinner and fellowship time just the pics they sat for. I do small jobs like setting up at events and sell prints on site, head shots and family pictures. I have a small studio in my home. I do this very part time.

If you have lightroom you could make a digital
slide show , and give to hem as a Christmas gift ,in lightroom there is a module for doing this like a powerpoint presentation. Family rate fee is usually free.Unless it is large canvases large matted print in wich case your cost only...
