This $1.00 bucket from the Dollar Tree works perfectly. No Squirrels, Possums or Raccoons have defeated this barrier.

Excellent, Ron, but bet they are trading ideas at this minute about ways to solve this puzzle! We have a pair of raccoons that visits us almost every night and climb the pole and sit on the baffle and carefully reaches over the top of the hopper feeder so that its weight doesn't close the weight activate door and dines away while his accomplish stays on the ground and cleans up any seed falling to the ground! We've almost worked out a deal---I know about how much the birds usually eat in a day so just put in that amount each morning and add a little for them and they don't tear the feeder to pieces! This has been going on for a number of years!

I had something like this. It worked great until the bear took it all - pole and everything.

That's terrible, fetzler and to bearproof a feeder would be quite an undertaking!

If you have access to fissionable material you might have a chance at creating a bear proof feeder.
