First image taken from the surface of the 4th rock from the Sun; 40 million miles away. The accomplishments of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California are the stuff of dreams.

Do you suppose it uses an iPhone or Android device? <big grin>

Yes, an amazing accomplishment. Hard to imagine the calculations that went into that trajectory....Earth was moving, Mars is moving...gotta shoot for where Mars will be 150-300 days from launch. It doesn't take much error to be off a whole lot! I guess that's why they call it "rocket science!"

Why straighten the horizon, etc.?

This is a shot from 40 million miles from our colorful earth.
And this is a natural realistic shot, not one that is going to be entered into a contest.
This is for us humanoids to see and wonder about what it (vehicle) is doing.

It could be that the "tires" on the left side of the vehicle is on a slight mound of rock dust or the left tires are in a depression.

I do believe all that was meant to be tongue in cheek. Appears you lost your sense of humor along the way.

Sorry to beg the difference with you.
I have not lost my sense of humor . . along the way.

Plus I did not take the comment as humor either.
I judged the comment as sincere, that's why i questioned why?

Thanks for the reply anywho!

It was very much tongue in cheek, a top achievement. Now if the scientists could turn their brilliant minds to making me a toaster that can toast both sides evenly I'd be eternally grateful.
