Can't View Panoramic Photos Shot In-Camera in Lightroom

I recently shot several panoramics using the in-camera feature of a Sony RX 10 III. The images look fine when viewed on the camera LCD. The images do not show properly in Lightroom. Is there a way to view in-camera panos in Lightroom?

Thx Tom Fama, BosStrap

I am not sure what you are asking.

Try the Develop module instead of the Library module. I have had some very large stitched pano images not load in the Library module until after the preview was created in the Develop module. It may be worth a try.

Is it a JPG, TIF, or some other format?

Shoot them as individual images, then stitch in Lightroom.

Since you neglect to mention what version of LR you are using, this might be part of the issue.

Cameras that create panoramic images internally generally save them as JPEG files, but perhaps yours does something else?

I am using LR 8 Classic CC, and I just did a test sweep pano (something I never have done in the past) with my RX10M4, and viewed the image in Lightroom prior to and after importing - with no issues. There is something in the information that you have not yet provided that may hold a clue as to why you are having an issue. LR version, Pano file size, camera settings, etc. would be helpful to know. In any case, I never use in-camera pano - I much prefer to record raw files, then merge in post.

"I much prefer to record raw files, then merge in post."

The technology of stitching in Lightroom, Photoshop and ACR (and probably other software) has evolved to a state that creates landscape shooting opportunities like we've never had.

UHH is a great site for support. Thanks all for your suggestions. Turns out that I could not reproduce the fault I described when viewing in-camera panoramic shots in Lightroom. I am not sure what caused the original problem, and unfortunately what occurred to resolve the issue.

The pano files are jpg and I am using Lightroom 6.1.4 (Perpetual version). Many of you recommended stitching separate photos. I will try that technique.

Thanks again,
