Still playing with focus stacking some coins I have. I have included the first of 13 images and the final stack for comparison. Notice the difference in the overall focus to fully realize what focus stacking can do for you.

I posted 3 other images yesterday but again my post did not make the daily digest of posts. Will have to watch the time when I post I guess. I have now found the black hole of posting twice this week. Anyone else experience this?

Did some of that for the first time this morning. As you've shown, it works rather well.

I’ve had the same problem with posts. If you learn the secret, let us know.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the time of day I submit them. The two that did not make the digest were sent around 9-11PM EST and this particular post (which did make the digest) was sent around 3PM. Admin thought it might have something to do with what categories were selected by individuals, but I don't think that is it since I normally post all of my posts in the photo gallery. Quite the mystery.

Did you use a focusing rail or did you do everything manually in another way? Curious. I know the Nikon D850 I have will do the exposure part in camera. Then there are various programs that will do the stacking.

Wouldn't using brighter light and more depth of field do the same thing?
