Very through review, thank you
From what I know Nikon and Canon are a little bit late into mirrorless cameras. Olympus, Panasonic and Sonny have been there before. Olympus and Panasonic have been at it for near 10 years. Pentax could be also prepared to launch a new mirrorless system.
Nikon has done pretty well with their new mirrorless cameras although both of their cameras are still too young to make final conclusions. Reviews are favorable for some reviewers and not so good for others especially when it comes to AF. The quality of images I have seen from the Nikon mirrorless are awesome.
Olympus has worked for several years with a sensor sporting 17 megapixels but most recently they announced a new sensor but there are no clues to what it could be. If it is a so called "full frame" sensor that could mean that a new lens mount will be needed and I do not believe that is a wise decision. We have to wait till next year.
If wildlife and sports is what a photographer will be shooting most of the time I know the Olympus EM-1 Mk. II is excellent. I am not familiar with Sonny or Panasonic models so I cannot make any comments about it. What I know is that regarding AF mirrorless cameras need to work a little bit more to make AF what it is with a dSLR body.
Hopefully that will happen sooner than later. The mirrorless future looks very good indeed.
