Just for Fuji Folks: In case you didn't see this interesting thought.

I suppose most of you (Fujifilm fans) read Mike Johnston, The Online Photographer, but just in case you missed it; today he writes an interesting (to me) little essayette on the the marketing philosophy of Fujifilm. I'll post the link below in hopes that it stays on the Main Photography Discussion.

Interesting, cogent article. The lack of IBIS is what keeps me from pulling the trigger on an X-T3 despite the other exceptional features of that camera. Maybe the X-T4...

That’s a big one for me too.
I’d like to use “vintage” lenses on mine, but have been spoiled by image stabilization. If it were as good as Olympus in that department, I would seriously consider making the jump. As it is now, my Fuji makes a great travel camera.

The X-E2IV is the most fun camera I own. I have a couple of their smaller Fujifilm digital cameras, but I've found nothing in their line that "fits", quite like the X-E2. I've thought about the X-Pro2 for the Acros film simulation, but that's all I've done; thought about it....

I’ve been looking into getting an infrared converted body. LifePixel has some already done. An X-E1 body is only $250.

I'm afraid I'm just a "no-nonsense" Fuji-loving Brit. Don't know Mike Johnston at all.

This guy takes half his article to talk about Nikon ...... err ?

If you switch, as I did from Nikon D700 to Fuji X-T1 you do it for your own reasons ..... me too ....reasons which were identifiable to me and the only reasons which are important.

I've now been using X-T2 for a year, see the undoubted improvement of the X-T3, but, because of my buying cycle, (only had it for 12 mths) wonder whether it might be worthwhile to wait.

And I've got big hands ! If an X-H2 appears with a significant upgrade for me and within my financial constraints then who knows?

All my decisions are made outside of this forum !

Had not heard of an “X-E2iv” before. Was familiar with the “X-E2s”.

I have mis-read some Fuji info.
The X-H1 DOES have 5ev of vibration reduction using the sensor, high speed sync and flicker reduction.
I'm using borrowed Nikon equipment at the moment since my layoff/turned into retirement and actually own no Nikon equipment.
I have a few Fuji lenses.....
For what I've been shooting, FF is not a requirement: portraits, photos for web pages and some video.
May be time to switch?
Off to the Fuji dealer in Topeka soon.

Just another code-name for the X-E2v4. This, from Fujirumors.com, back in 2016:

"By upgrading your Fujifilm X-E2 with firmware 4, you are giving up the camera that you knew: Your X-E2 will turn into an X-T10—only with a rangefinder design. However, on the inside, both the X-E2v4 and the new X-E2S offer (almost) the same features, the same menu options and the same graphical user interface as the X-T10."

Thanks. Not sure if I updated my firmware. Will have to check.

Just be sure you want to ~ as Rico says, it makes the X-E2 a noticeably different camera ~ and there's no turning back.

If you haven't seen it, here's another article on the "X-E2IV" (I kinda like the write-ups this couple does):

Thanks for checking in with your thoughts on the topic, Geoff ~ I always appreciate your contributions to the forum.

My perception is that "Mike" is comparing the Fujifilm approach to the camera market, versus Nikon's approach. Hence, equal ink for both makers ~ so, I'll give him some grace.

P.S.: Ah! This'll probably amuse you, Geoff. Looks like Admin's robot finally caught up with me, and switched this topic over here (where it's less apt to annoy the body politic). Maybe I posted too many links?
