Actually, they aren't hoaxes. They really are designs pressed into crops in the field.

Erich Von Danigen made a fortune telling us about the aliens who have visited earth over thousands of years. Others made their fortunes telling us about the Bermuda Triangle, that mysterious area where people, planes, and ships disappear. For some unfortunate reason, people prefer to believe nonsense, rather than facts. How many people have been killed because they were thought to be witches or devils?
