Sky Replacement - Epic Skies Action

I know that this is not the most interesting photo and it is just a simple image with a quite plain composition at that however it gave me a chance to apply some post processing techniques.

This is a photo that I took of an old one-room schoolhouse that was later converted into a small church that is located in Sevierville, TN. When I went to process it I found that the sky had blown out (I shoot in RAW so I could pull a lot of the blue back in but there was no fun in doing that). This gave me an opportunity to replace the sky using the "Uplift Epic Skies" Photoshop Action.

Because this is the Digital Artistry Forum, I wanted to share what this Photoshop Action is capable of doing. For those who may be interested in learning more about this Photoshop Action you can find out more here: https://www.upliftactions.com/products/epic-skies-cloud-overlays

You can take any picture of the most dramatic sky you have and replace the one in your photo so there is no limit to your creativity. For those of you who use Affinity Photo there is a version for it as well (by the way nearly all of the Photoshop Plugins are compatible with Affinity Photo which is really a great feature).

That is a definite improvement on the look of the sky.

You did a fine job changing the sky.

I followed your link to see how it was done. He gives you a lot of variables and color overlays. I do something similar and as I do I have to watch to see if the sky is changing the trees too much, making branches to dark.

A suggestion:
In your example you might try adding a mask to the sky image layer, then using 20% to 40% black soft paint brush paint over the trees and you should see a softer blend amongst the branches.

Always fun learning new techniques.

Thanks for the tip and I'll give it a try. It's always good to get feedback with helpful recommendations and it's one of the things that makes being part of the UHH community so nice.
