A strange problem with Lightroom Classic

I have been using the subscription service from Adobe for several months now with no problems - Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop all worked as advertised. Now suddenly (maybe after one of the updates) when I use Lightroom Classic, the top bar that has the choices "file, edit, develop" etc. on the left side and should have the usual symbols to minimize, maximize or close on the right side suddenly is without the symbols. I therefore cannot minimize the program to do something else or to close the program I have to go to the "file" selection and choose "close". My other two Adobe programs have the symbols but Lightroom Classic does not.

I am sure there is probably a simple solution to this but sometimes the simple problems are the hardest to solve. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

You're in Full Screen Mode. Hit Ctrl-Alt-f on your keyboard to return to normal mode. Having done that, take a glance at >Window >Screen Mode and choose which option you prefer. Keyboard commands are shown, too.

Up at the top in the middle is a nearly invisible triangle, click on it and it either opens or closes the top menu bar, the same little triangle is on the bottom and both sides for the bars there.
To get rid of the side bars to see an image bigger just hit the "F" key, to go back hit it again.

Is it the part outlined in green that is missing? I saw that once and can't remember what fixes it!

Shift + f (may need to Shift + f twice)

How lucky can I be! Yours was the very first reply and you solved the problem.

Many thanks Cany143 and also to all the others that replied to my problem so rapidly.

Lightroom 6.12 uses Command M for minimize. Command H to 'hide'. 'Window' menu lists a number of keyboard shortcuts for controlling window appearance.

Always use keyboard shortcuts and you never have to use a single menu in PS!

That is very often the case that the first reply or several replies solves the problem.

Then comes the other 5 pages of replies from those who don’t bother to read prior posts. The time saving thing to do is to unwatch the thread after you have gotten the solution to the problem.

Just so you know, I have never made such a simple mistake! Not once in my whole life! How can you loose track of somet... Where are my glasses? I just had them a minute ago.... D*#m! Now I knocked my coffee over! SH*T!!! My shirt is a mess....

I do not think there is anyone who has used LR for more than a month or two who has not accidentally turned a menu bar off and wondered where it went.

I have had this problem for quite some time. Instead of closing the app, just go to Window/minimize to do something else if you’re not ready to close Lightroom.

I would be curious as to why this has changed

Again, I would like to thank all the responders for taking the time to help me. I will take the advice to unwatch the thread once I have a solution and apologize to those who sent in replies after I had a a solution.
