And only $135. What a bargain.

You could get a 64GB card from Amazon for $15. Of course, if you need that 300MB/s write speed, maybe the cost can be justified. From everything I've read, SD cards aren't affected by water. They've been through washing machines and spent months in oceans and still yield their images.

I have left SD cards in pants pockets while being washed in normal cycle machines with no apparent damage.

You're right on Jerry , I've read the same thing that SD cards are not affected by water. Sounds like a rip-off to me.

The IC inside is covered with an epoxy bubble. Drying out in rice should be fine. Only the traces from the connector to the "bubble" might get exposed to moisture. The key is drying them out before use so there is no electrolysis going on inside - should be fine.

SD cards cannot be waterproofed. The contacts are exposed regardless of what the manufacturer does.

As to the housing for the electronics inside? That is ALREADY sealed. so.... Your card falls in the water or is washed? Let it dry or more precisely let the contacts dry before inserting it in anything camera or reader.

As to camera that falls into water? If the camera is off the card does care. If the camera is water tight? It still does not care. Now, if the camera is on and water gets to it? BZZZZZZT.

As one mentioned, the 300 may justify the price (sort off) the rest? pure bullshit.

Didn't read the article yet but what good is a water proof card if it's in a camera that isn't? Didn't think there's much in a card that would be affected by water, a few minutes with the hair dryer on the contacts should do the trick.

That's a great SD card and boy is it fast. It's just recently that Canon came out with a camera that can take advantage of the UHS-II compliance of this card. I believe this is the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera. No other Canon camera is compatible with UHS-II SD cards. I think that quite a few Nikon cameras are but this type of card hasn't been around long. If I had the new EOS R camera I'd definitely buy one of these.
