Love the colors that have changed already. This is potentially a nice location but not as presented here. I would include more of the tree tops and sky. I do not like the black areas. I would have used content-aware to fill them up. Should work well for the foreground but not sure about the top.

Good luck and give it another try.

Thanks for your thoughts, abc1234. I am quite happy with what it is.

Although I believe the panorama would be better without the black areas, to achieve that would have required either covering more area with the original photos or at least insuring that they all maintained the horizon on a constant line. Barring that, I do agree that leaving the black space in place is preferable to cropping them out, since that would eliminate a lot of the colorful tree detail at the left.

I generally crop out non-image portions of my hand-held panoramas, but in a few instances I have left them in, just to preserve details that would be lost with more comprehensive cropping. In those cases (and in the OP's) I think retaining the details trumps eliminating the black.

Thanks for the comment, David. I quickly realized that cropping out the black would eliminate much of the tree detail. This was a first try at a multiple shot panorama with a new camera and was not intended for anything more. It does show the marvelous canopy of color when standing in the cemetery. I would be very happy to hang this on my wall as a memory.

I thought the colors were so outstanding that I wanted to share this place so I put this picture here and others in the gallery. I am not overly concerned with turning out only excellence but still very happy to hear everyone's comments.
