My wife is just a casual photographer but a few years ago I gave her and our younger son (special needs) lessons in composition and basics - during a picture trip I over heard "Why didn't someone tell me about this stuff 40 years ago?" when she saw the difference in her photographs as compared to her snapshots. Hmm? We met a bit over 40 years before that. Who could she have been talking about?
Well last month she took Jon to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles for a dinosaur exhibit and they also toured the big walk in butterfly, bug and exotic plants room. Low light and a lot of movement made the butterflies a problem for her Canon SX-50 (flash refused to work, took me two hours to get it working when she got home-reset everything to factory defaults and set it up over again and the flash worked). The large number of spiders were a "surprise" but along the way she did some shots of the flowers. This one came out really nice. And there are some of those spider webs.
I am including this print in Photo Club this month.
