Logitech Unifying Software

Logitech came up with a clever idea with its Unifying Software. One tiny receiver can operate several wireless mice and keyboards. The problem I have is getting a new device to work, and the mouse and receiver I'm using now don't communicate with each other very well. I'll have to connect a wired mouse to start over with a new mouse/receiver combination. If I remove the receiver, as Logitech says to do, then I have no mouse action, and I can't continue. The wireless kbd I was using would often lose letters or entire words, so I went back to a corded kbd. there's probably a way to remove then devices that are currently paired with this computer and start over.

I'm not looking for a solution here. I'm just commenting. Technology is great, but it isn't perfect.

I agree, when it works, tech is awesome ... when it doesn't it sometimes turns into a nightmare.

I’m using a Logitech unified keyboard and mouse with my Dell XPS8700 without any problems. Worked first time. I have no explanation why you’re having so much fun?

It's probably partly my own fault. If I would just get one mouse and keyboard, I'd be fine. I tend to replace devices and swap from one computer to another. That XPS 8700 is a nice machine. I've had two or three in that XPS 8xxx series.

I was using a Logitech keyboard and mouse combo with their Unifying Software for a number of years, but then it appears that something in Windows 10 made this setup go haywire. Nothing I tried fixed the problem. The mouse was jerky, the keyboard was inoperative at times, and when it was "working", it sometimes dropped keystrokes, and other times re-typed a key 2-10 times. I've now gone back to a USB keyboard and mouse, and those problems are gone.

Good luck solving your problem.

Try downloading SetPoint from Logitech. That may help your problem with Windows 10 with your wireless set up.

I have been using a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard on my Dell desktop computer with Win10 for a couple years. I haven't had any problems with them. What am I doing wrong?

I don't like wireless mice (they are too slow in response in drawing). But it is getting harder to find wired ones. Have only had to replace one mouse in several years. Now have a wired Gaming mouse. Only problem is the cord is too long.
