10 South LaSalle in Chicago

10 South LaSalle is a 502 ft tall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. It was completed in 1986 and has 37 floors. Moriyama & Teshima Architects designed this building. The first four floors of the tower are made of the original facade from the Otis Building, the original building on this site [a somewhat ironic tip of the hat to the preservationists] -- an odd result that insults both the old and the new.

I think it's unique. Walking at street level, you would not think its a boxy glass and chrome skyscraper.

Is there a principal tenant in the building these days?

No. Just many individuals -- I go there occasionally for Chicago Title RE closings.

Here's photos of the original Otis elevator building (1915) http://chicagology.com/skyscrapers/skyscrapers036/

It was replaced in 1984. I remember the old building, but don't find that I took any photos of it back then.

Nice shot with a good story, interest, and compositional results.
