This little rodent is a first for me

This little rodent has been showing up at our bird feeders for about a week now, I have seen many hundreds of squirrels over the years. But never this color phase, it is an absolute beautiful chocolate brown. This afternoon was the first I have had an opportunity to get a couple photos, it is not perfect but it does not sit still very long. Back button focus helps the task. Hope everyone enjoys this little rodent.

I have many many grays and from time to time a black phase up here, but have never seen one this color and I have traveled all over the United States and some in Canada. I have many black squirrels threw out your home state of Georgia and also in Florida. Hope you enjoyed

A lot of them in Houston Texas. The number varies year to year. This year I would have a difficult time showing you one.

A real cutie. Years ago, we had black squirrels in Princeton, NJ; but I have never sen one this chocolate brown color before. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Very nice. I had a strawberry-blonde squirrel visit all of last year but not at all this year, sadly. I'll post a pic if you like.

I saw some chocolate brown squirrels in Canada while were on a trip last year. Maybe he's visiting from up north.
