Epson Print Layout application

I have been using Epson printers for 30 years. I go back to when we had to have a separate rasterizing application to make a 30X40 print – it would literally take hours. The results were really good. I've had Canon and HP large format printers and they worked well. I have had an Epson 3880Pro for about 3 years and because I have been so busy with my photography it sat idle while I had drop shippers take care of my prints. The last few weeks I haven't been as busy, mostly due to the rains in Texas, so I decided to uncover my 3880 and print a bunch of images. I calibrated my monitors and downloaded the necessary updated drivers, updated my ICC profiles and so on. I print using Lightroom and Photoshop and I soft proof my images. The printed images were acceptable but a few were really out of gamut and some of the colors were not quite right. I asked around my local groups and no one had an answer. I went back to Epson thinking I missed an ICC profile update and I downloaded everything having to do with the Epson 3880 Pro. In that download, I discovered an application named Epson Print Layout. I downloaded it and went to YouTube to see what they story was.
After that, I gave it a whirl. Wha-la! My prints are pristine. If you have an Epson printer I suggest you give it a try. It has only been available for year or so and I hope Epson continues to develop it. By the way. In 3 years I had only made about 10 prints on my 3880. It has been covered for most of that time. Not a single hitch with it printing right off that bat and no ink issues. That's pretty awesome.

Very interesting David. I took a look at the application on the Epson website and found the following:
"Supported Printers

Supports SureColor® P400, P600, P800, P5000, P6000, P7000, P8000, P9000.1"

I'm glad it works for your 3880 and wish they had something equivalent for my 1430.
Best wishes.
