Fun shots Bret. Always enjoy seeing your surfing shots, reminds me of yesteryear. Oldmans was was a fun spot, but as kids that's what it was, a place for old men. But some of these waves here show some spunk. Love the girl hanging 5, but the shot is interesting to me in that she is using her left foot. She must be left footed. The shot of the nice looking left with the guy paddling out, I can imaging what is going thru his head. "shoot, why didn't I wait for that one. Over all everyone looks like they are having fun. One thing you reminded me of however. Sano, Churches, and Tressels, that whole stretch of beach, has a rock bottom. I hated going out, especially at low tide. Sore feet. Today, I would wear booties.

Thanks for the post

Yes, sore feet for sure. I use booties when I surf any of those 3 breaks. Just to refresh your memory Nalu, if you surf with your left foot forward, then you are called "goofy footed"!
Yes, everyone was having fun.......nice clean well shaped waves.

A very nice set Brent.
What was the water temperature? I expected to see them all wearing full length wet suits.

65 degrees. Many surfers "trunk it" in that temperature. Personally, I like being toasty warm and will wear a 3-2 wetsuit.

Oh so nice, Brent. I really like the one with the green strip of water and the next to last looking like he's about the come apart. Did he?

I have a confession to make AzPicLady, I tweaked that one in PP.
No, he did not come apart! lol

Brent, excellent set as always and I enjoyed the surfer's hanging five and the one lady in photo number six in particular.

Greg

Yeah Greg, there are LOTS of really talented women that surf at San Onofre. Some world champion long boarders come to mind.

Wow Brent, you've done it again. Although all are fascinating, #2 and #8 have done it again for me.
Thanks

Thanks Raz for your appreciation of this series!

... great set, as usual .... really like #2 .... never seen 3 people on different waves in the same frame ...

Actually, I have never seen it either! I got really lucky LBOYD1946 with that shot. The timing was perfect! You never know what you will get when you shoot surfers.

Great set, nice to see people having a good time, like the spray on # 9. Must be right on the tail of the board. Keep them coming.

Thank you One Rude Dawg. I will keep em coming! ALWAYS! Yeah, that shot of #9 was very unique. In all my days of shooting surfers, this was the only time I have seen something like that!

Your timing and eye for patterns in one two and four are perfect!
Nice set.

Well BassmanBruce, I have a confession to make to you: Often times I will shoot in what I call "machine gun mode", which to any photographer is known as a certain FPS. It gives better odds for capturing a good shot.

Right you are Brent. Been coping with small to no waves lately with exception of one afternoon last week. Oh well

Same here on occasion, but you still have to see it coming to get the shot.
