Bodie, California at Sunset

This is a pano I've wanted to take for a long time, looking west as the sun sets in Bodie. The sky was somewhat bland, so in Photoshop I added a layer with one of Landscape Pro's sunset clouds, and blended to get the look I wanted.

One of the things I have been toying with is the context that a panorama provides. That is - what is the one image I would take of the scene in front of me, then do a panorama around that one image. Haven't found the opportunity to do this yet - what do you, whoever you may be, think?

I don't look at it that way. A photographic panorama allows you to digitally capture almost the range of your eyesight in one image. I am capturing the environment as I see it in toto.

Very nice image. I really like it. I have never been there and didn't realize there were that many buildings. Normally you just see photos of a few buildings in posted photos.

Two fires destroyed 80% of the buildings in Bodie between the 1850s and 1930s.

That's what I have also been doing - the thought did occur to me to try. Will post when I've done so
