I know someone who may be interested, but she'll need a ballpark price.

Seriously, less than 500 clicks? Why didn't you use it? Those were pretty dang good cameras in their day.

I have no way to do that, but I can assure you that both are in excellent shape. If you're dissatisfied I'll gladly refund your money. I'm an old geezer and I believe in honesty.

In 2006, the D80 cost just short of $1000.00 and still a decent camera by today's standards and with just over 400 clicks, considered new...not bad. A good camera for somebody just getting into photography.

I just sold a low count D80 w/three lenses in backpack for $300 and it was a happy dealmaker. Great camera in it's day. It was only replaced by the D90, when they added video to the D90. I used the D80 for great shots. 10 plus megapixels.

What does considered new actually mean? A camera that is 12 years old and has been used; how is that considered, new?!
As far as still a decent camera by today's standards; the closest comparable camera is the Canon 40D. By today's standards somewhat of a dinosaur. (I still have one, the 40D, and it still works) But, as it works just fine, comes with the kit lens and strap and bag, $200 USD is a fair price; same price trending on eBay for similarly equipped camera. Sounds like a great beginners camera or a great addition to someones collection. I still would not considered it as new; it was built in the era of solder whiskers, although doubtful it's affected.

I am interested, but don't know what to bid. What would you consider fair?

What does considered new actually mean? well, I guess you have to use your imagination for that one. I would think a twelve year old camera with a little over 400 clicks doesn't have a lot of ware & tear on the inside, sort of like buying a used twelve year old car with 15,000 miles on it. Like I said, use your imagination.

Sorry for the delay; I think $200 would be fair considering the excellent shape the camera is in.
