Hiya, just following the rules, 8) I've been looking for a friendly forum to post on, and this seems like a good one.

I've been shooting for about 7 years or so, mostly as a hobby. My wife and I have shot two weddings, and hope to do many more as we acquire better equipment.

I started with a Canon Rebel Ti(35mm), and now use a Canon 50D. My current favorite lens is our 50mm 1.4.

Open to any questions, and hopefully I'll be posting some pictures soonly.

Welcome - I too use a Canon which I like fine but can't say I have any special loyalty to any brand. I also like the 50 mm lens as it is a nice fast one one with good clarity. Look forward to see what you like to shoot and any comments and or questions. I have added one {maybe two} just for the heck of it. Always welcome to comment or not as you wish.

Thanks for the welcome notnobuddha. I feel the same, I would gladly try another brand, but my experience prior to digital was with Canon, so I stuck with it. I hope to be upgrading to some L quality glass, but I think the 'nifty' fifty will always be close to my heart...I LOVE the bokeh, and "glow" you can achieve at a wide aperture, especially for children's portraits.

Nice shots! I especially enjoy the effect on the clouds you achieved in the first shot...

I've been using our laptop lately, and just realized I have some pictures from our South Dakota trip last year on here, and here is a shot and an edited shot from that trip... I'm open to ANY thoughts/suggestions/comments/criticism and always will be.

Oh, and my camera has an APS-C sensor, so the focal length is more like 29mm if my math is correct.

Also, looking back, I wouldn't have darkened the photo so harshly, but if I re-edit all my past edits I wouldn't get anywhere, . :-P
