Just found this from 6/18 - Wacatee Zoo, SC - Rookery.
Does this have any merit as BIF? I do not shoot much of BIF. Too lazy to and not enough patience learn!
Thanks for feedback and viewing.
Mark
It has merit as a superbly lit, highly detailed and intersting action shot of an Egret.
It’s a very nice shot.
The bird is in the air, Mark, it is a BIF!
Thank you so much!! I was attempting to shoot BIF at the rookery. I never took the time to view and since it was 6 months ago, I had forgotten to peruse the images - still RAW.

Thanks Mike. I was shooting BIF, but they were handheld with my Canon 7D MII and 70 - 200 f/2.8 II mounted. Maybe I should try some more? With Parkinson's in my right hand I shake focusing and releasing shutter.

Stay at it! You certainly know how to use your equipment, Mark, there is no sign of shake in that shot.
Interesting BIF action. I would be proud if I had taken it.
.. unless you cropped out the Egret's feet so we can't see that it is standing on a fence :-)
Give a monopod a try, Mark. I have pretty steady hands but I don't even consider hand held with a telephoto. With some practice you will be just as quick and versatile as the guys who shoot handheld. Personally, I've never seen any merit in shooting handheld. I have posted some BIFs that I'm pretty proud of and they were all shot using a monopod.
