I photographed another motorcycle trials last weekend near Weeping Water, NE. It was raining the entire event and the ground was too slippery to walk into the sections as I usually do with my trusty 24-70, so I used the Nifty 50 and an umbrella and shot one-handed from a distance. Mostly used 1/1000, f3.5 with auto ISO. The outer lens on the 50 is quite recessed, so it was fairly easy to keep it dry.
You are my kind of photographer......figureing out a way to get the job done and not putting your camera gear in danger. Gutsy! Good shots too.
Many years ago I used to ride trials and it's amazing how the sport has changed and the things the riders can do now. Thanks for bringing back some memories.
