Look into developing and scanning on your own. I develop in Caffenol and scan with an Epson V600. Caffenol is a coffee based developer with other household items. I mix a batch that's just enough for the job each time. No waste or worrying about it going bad. The equipment you'll need is minimal. Darkroom changing bag, developing tank, measuring beakers, fixer (it's reusable and lasts a while) etc. It's very satisfying to open the tank when you're done and see the results. There are plenty of resources and tutorials that will help you through.
