No matter what you photograph in Seattle, it will still look like Seattle.
My advice: forget the camera and hit the microbrews instead.
Ya, sure, you betcha!

Bremerton - get some shots of the Kitty Hawk, the last of the non-nuke aircraft carriers, before she is turned into a mass of scrap metal.

It is gray and rainy here. Bring a waterproof camera and a sunshine filter.

An excellent list at the top. I'll add a couple locations for your consideration. 1) The Volunteer Park Conservatory (a unique turn of the century greenhouse filled with lots of interesting plants/flowers) and 2) Chihuly Garden and Glass at the Seattle Center (next to the Space Needle). I also like to hang out a lot at Fisherman's Terminal with my camera. There are many interesting photos to be had there and a several good restaurants as well. A couple additional tips: Come with money. Seattle is an expensive city. Avoid driving anywhere between 6:00AM to 9:00AM and 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Traffic congestion in this city is horrible and quite often well beyond those hours.

If you are going this month, you may still get some bright, sunshiny days, but it will be cool. You may have to look for a good spot, but the waterfront in general is very interesting. Tend toward the south end of Elliot Bay. And be sure to ride a ferry. Almost any of them provide a fun, low-cost experience, with good opportunity for photos enroute as well as at each end of your trip. I like to ride as a passenger and not worry about my car, if I can find a nearby place to park. You can also visit Boeing's factory in Everett with some advance planning. You can also drive east over the mountains (check the weather) and visit apple orchards in Wenatchee, if you have time.

And don't worry if it is cloudy. Just set your WB to overcast and you will find all sorts of color in your images.

The Museum of Art is also good, if it is within your range of interest, along with the Museum of Glass in Tacoma (but they don't have a lot of Chihuly's work).

In short, there is a ton of stuff to see there, and a good bit of it is free. My favorite is the Hiram Chittendon Locks in Ballard, already mentioned above.

Do a little looking before you go.

Sunset Hill Park above Shilshole Bay is a beautiful area for great photos and views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Not too far from The Ballard Locks.

Wife and I just returned from 2 weeks in Pacific Northwest. We stayed outside Seattle and used the light rail and Uber. It was my first experience with Uber and I liked it a lot.

Seattle is one of the great cities on earth. I went there as a babe in arms (I was told) and eighty years later I still visit. It is vibrant, alive, quirky and so much fun. It's even worth the traffic hassle to get there. Once there park your car, public transport is abundant and cheap.

I see lots of very good suggestions here. I have always enjoyed some time at Lake Union Park (very southern end of Lake Union) taking some pictures of the sea planes taking off and landing.

Check the East Side of Seattle: Bellevue, Kirkland. In Kirkland there are some beautiful places along the Lake Washington.

Take a ferry ride. They are cheap and offer great views.
Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks are close by as well.
For Mt Rainier, try Sunrise and Paradise. Also for Rainier - look up Lake Tipsoo. Great for sunrise and sunset.
Snoqualmie Falls.
